In memoriam

Anna Whitehead died on Wednesday 10th March 2021 in Bromley, Kent after a battle with breast cancer.

Anna was one of the UK’s foremost experts on sustainability in interior practice. She volunteered for the BIID for over a decade including being a lead organiser of the 2011 BIID Retrofit Conference and a member of the Sustainability Committee and Professional Practice Committees. She contributed to research and reports published by the UK Green Building Council in addition to regularly writing articles and delivering lectures and workshops on sustainable interior design in the UK and abroad.  One of Anna’s particular passions was indoor air quality and she was involved in lobbying the government on this issue. Anna was also one of the few interior design specialists in the UK to have achieved LEED sustainable accreditation.

Anna is remembered by her friends and colleagues at the BIID as an incredibly generous, thoughtful and kind person.
