Annual general meeting 2012

Published on

The Annual General Meeting 2012 of the British Institute of British Design kicked off directly after the launch of the Annual Conference: Celebrating British Design on 21st June. Members slowly streamed in to the Jarvis auditorium in 66 Portland Place, with an air of anticipation. It has been a good year for the Institute and it was with a light heart that Diana Yakeley could step down as the Institute's President and pass the torch over to Sue Timney. Dan Hopwood was voted onto Council as CPD Director, Debra McQuin as Marketing Director and Helen Keighley was co-opted onto Council as Education Director.

As usual the awarding of the BIID Merit Award and the BIID CPD Award took place during the AGM. Lori Pinkerton-Rolet received the Merit Award in recognition of her longstanding dedication to the Institute and to the interior design industry. Lori has previously been the President of the Institute and has continued to actively support us ever since.

Winners of the BIID CPD Award have usually accumulated a staggering number of points through the year and this year's winner was no exception. Jamie Hempsall received the CPD Award with an astounding 176 points.

Institute Accountant Graham Collett is one of the unsung heroes of the organisation. In recognition of his continuing dedication, invaluable advice and expert guidance he was presented with the first ever ‘President's Award' by outgoing President Diana Yakeley.

The BIID cubes for the Merit Award and the President's Award were made and partially sponsored by Identity Signs

Minutes from the AGM will be available shortly in the members' area.
