BIID Announces Winter CPD Courses
The British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) has announced a series of new Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for its winter calendar. These courses on the BIID’s established CPD programme, will conclude another year of engaging and informative seminars in its celebratory 50th anniversary year.
The programme is set to include courses such as the Styling Interiors for Photo Shoots Workshop which will be held at the BIID headquarters, Old Street, London, on Thursday 15th October, and will be delivered by highly experienced stylist and interiors author Judith Wilson.
Divided into three parts, the workshop includes an opening session on the value of investing in professional shots, followed by a selection of practical exercises. The session will conclude with Judith’s insider knowledge as Contributing Editor for House & Garden, into what interiors magazines are looking for when considering images and/or potential projects for publication.
Another upcoming highlight is Working with Historic Buildings led by Jen Austin, a multi-skilled consultant and built heritage conservation and historical research specialist. Taking place on 19th November 2015, this broad reaching seminar will introduce delegates to listed buildings and conservation areas, covering the pitfalls and considerations that make working with these buildings so challenging.
Finally, Fees and Getting Paid: The Big Debate Goes On will close this year’s CPD courses on 3rd December 2015. A previous CPD course that has been brought back by popular demand, this seminar will debate the issue of fees and payment for both the designer and client and offer advice on how to navigate this essential business topic.
This event will gather a panel of experienced designers to discuss some of the most pressing issues surrounding fees and charging. As part of this engaging seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences throughout the event.
“We are delighted to share the latest instalment of the BIID’s CPD courses that conclude another year of engaging and informative seminars. With a grand total of 15 CPD courses throughout the year, 2015 has been a hugely memorable year celebrating the BIID’s 50th anniversary,” says Susie Rumbold, Vice President, President Elect and CPD Director for the BIID. “Looking back at everything that has been achieved by the BIID and its members over the last 50 years and design’s evolution, it’s more important than ever for our members to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in this rapidly changing industry. From beginners to experienced design professionals, there is a course for everyone to expand and develop their interior design skills and credentials.”
