The BIID Referral Service Is Changing

Get ready for the changes coming to the BIID Referral Service from Monday 23rd January 2023 with our helpful guide.

WHAT IS THE BIID REFERRAL SERVICE?

The BIID Referral Service is a membership benefit for BIID Registered Interior Designers.

How it works:

  1. Prospective clients fill out a form on the BIID website with details of a project they are looking for an interior designer to help with. 
  2. Once this form has been completed, the BIID then send out this request to Registered Interior Designers.
  3. Designers then have the opportunity to submit a response to the client (through the BIID website in the Member Area where the referral has been published; we do not accept submissions made by email) to demonstrate their interest in the project.
  4. All the responses are then reviewed by the BIID, and those who have not been successful will be contacted to redraft their submission before sending out the final pool of submissions to the client.
  5. Designers must submit their interest through the BIID and will be contacted by the client if they wish to pursue their services.
  6. The BIID will always follow up with a client to see if they have employed the services of any of our designers, but we cannot guarantee clients will make contact after submission. 

HOW IS THE REFERRAL SERVICE CHANGING?

The Referral Service process will be changing as of Monday 23rd January 2023. From then on, referral requests will be sent out at 11am on a Monday morning, and designers will have until 11am the following Wednesday to make their submission.

After the deadline, the BIID will review the submissions and contact any Members who haven't met the criteria for referrals with some handy hints on improving their submission. The deadline for resubmissions will be the following Friday at 11am, and all redrafted submissions can be sent to info@biid.org.uk for reconsideration. Only at this stage will we accept submissions by email. All initial submissions must be made through the Member Area.

Once this deadline has passed, all successful submissions will then be forwarded to the client.

  • Please be aware the client’s contact details are never made public to designers.
