Clockwork Removals and Storage Announced as New Platinum Partner
The BIID are delighted to introduce you to our new Platinum Partner.
Clockwork Removals and Storage introduce themselves with a few tips to consider when using managed storage services.
Clockwork have 25 years’ experience in the removals and storage industry and have a network of branches across the UK. Their teams have extensive experience of working with interior designers and offer managed storage, installation and delivery services.
Do Credibility Checks
Anyone with warehouse facilities can offer managed storage services so do some due diligence and check accreditations and reviews before contracting out services. Ensuring your storage partner is a member of the British Association of Removals is a great place to start. All members are regularly audited, are fully insured and comply with the Trading Standards Institute code which guarantees you are dealing with a professional and fair company. Look out for businesses who hold certain ISO’s (International Organization for Standardization) too, these certify high quality and ensure credibility.
Information is Key
To get the most cost effective quote for your managed storage and procurement services provide as much information as possible. This could include a comprehensive inventory of the items you are storing or are having delivered, expected delivery dates and details (if known), and the additional services you require such as; full unpacking or installation, handyman services, ethical removal of waste etc.
Keeping things Organised
A well run warehouse is a highly organised and busy place. It may look like endless rows of containers but behind the scenes every item is inventoried and accounted for. To avoid a delivery being wrongfully allocated, make sure all inbound deliveries have suitable identification. This is really important as it ensures the warehouse staff are able to quickly and correctly identify your delivery and store it in the relevant place. Speak to your storage partner about suitable ID but we would suggest; company reference numbers, job IDs or the project name.
Timelines and Deadlines
We work with lots of designers and understand that project timelines and deadlines are highly changeable. We work with our clients on this and all our services are fully flexible. That said, where possible it really helps with warehouse logistics and planning to get as much notice as possible when you require items to be delivered and/or installed. We will always work our hardest to ensure a job is completed on time but during busier periods warehouses really appreciate as much notice as possible.
Oversized Items
We are lucky to have a nationwide network of warehouses but some storage companies won’t always have the space and expertise to handle oversized items. We work with laboratories, museums and galleries so our staff have the expertise and equipment to deal with extra large and heavy deliveries. If you are having a delivery of bulky or heavy items always check with your storage supervisor to make sure their warehouse can accommodate them.
