Crestron launches cpd programme at biid conference

Published on

Crestron, the smart home and lifestyle electronics specialist, has announced two newly accredited courses for the BIID CPD Programme.  The two courses have been developed to assist interior designers to deliver creative, innovative projects that seamlessly integrate today’s residential technology solutions.  Crestron is attending the BIID Conference on 19 June and delegates will have the chance to secure a place on these new courses.

The two courses, Integrating Technology into Residential Design and An Introduction to Lighting Control have been developed to answer demand from the interior design community to incorporate technology without sacrificing design in residential projects.  The courses highlight what can be achieved with the latest in lifestyle electronics and how to successfully integrate technology hardware into design schemes.

Course 1 Integrating Technology into Residential Design (2 BIID CPD points):  covers everything from the latest home technology trends and what is possible, to discussions on the legislation that automation technology can help designers meet.

Course 2 An Introduction to Lighting Control (2 BIID CPD points): will demystify the lighting technologies that can transform the look and feel of a home. Crestron will highlight the impact of LED on residential lighting and how using simple lighting effects can enhance the design and features within a room.

“We’re in our third year as a BIID industry partner and the introduction of our BIID accredited CPD courses shows our commitment to designers,“ says Petra van Meeuwen, EMEA Media Relations at Crestron. “Technology is as important to a home as fixtures and furnishings. We are passionate about working with designers to balance the best of Crestron technology with their stunning design schemes and these new courses will help develop the relationship between design and technology.”

Initially, the 45-minute courses will be run at Crestron’s flagship interior design Showroom in the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. The two courses are each worth 2 CPD points and are available free to all BIID members.

Visitors at the BIID conference will have exclusive access to the first dates in Crestron’s BIID CPD programme. The conference will be held on Thursday 19 June from 9.30- 16.00 at RIBA, 66 Portland Place, London.
