Former BIID International Director Noriko Sawayama of London-based NSDA is working with UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) who are organising a trade mission for UK companies that wish to explore and access business opportunities for the Tokyo Olympic & Paralympic Games in 2020 and the Rugby World Cup being hosted in Japan in 2019. Five years out from the events, this mission will focus on transport planning, sports advisory services and design.

It will be a large scale mission attended by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London and other design sectors from the UK.

There will also be a matchmaking event, attended by Japanese companies selected by UKTI Japan in need of designers from the UK.

The participation fee for the mission will be £840 per party, and Market Access Programme (MAP) grants of £600 are available.

In partnership with UKTI, British Airways are offering 20% off flights for this mission as well.

The event takes place from the 24th-26th November 2014, and deadline for interested parties is the 10th October 2014.
