Judges’ comments
The judges commend the presentation for its artistic yet architectural approach, effectively communicating design ideas while engaging the viewer's imagination. The use of colour and Photoshop actions enhances the concept, evoking an emotionally intelligent design. The digital media is applied creatively, combining distinctive and arresting textures and layers with a watercolour-like looseness, capturing the atmosphere and complexity of the concept without being overly literal.
Hand Drawn Winner – Anatolio by Asude Nur Erek, UWE Bristol
Judges’ comments
The judges praised the sketch for its strong effectiveness, vibrant energy, and excellent use of colour, noting its boldness and clarity. It impresses with its immediacy and surety of touch, making it ideal for early-stage concept discussions. The brushstrokes and style clearly convey the designer's intent, with the colours adding a magical quality. Overall, it receives top marks for its impactful presentation.
Hybrid Winner – Hub of Connection by Eszter Molnar, London Metropolitan University
Judges’ comments
The judges commended the illustration as a masterclass in mixed media, skilfully blending hand-drawn and digital elements with great consideration. Its imaginative, layered visualisation creates depth and impact, continually revealing new details upon closer inspection.
