Primary tabs
Event description
Where does the responsibility lie for ensuring our buildings are safe for tenants and other building users?
At the RIBA fire safety conference, you will hear experts from across the built environment sector analyse current failings in the design, procurement, construction and maintenance of buildings and provide alternative solutions for industry and regulations.
Gain insight into the processes and responsibilities that impact quality of design and construction, and how we can work to achieve a cohesive safe building program. Develop your regulatory knowledge and hear how the RIBA recommendations for an improved Part B can help to ensure the life safety of building users. Learn how to help address the public’s dwindling confidence in the industry and understand your roles and responsibilities recommended in the new Fire Safety Overlay to the RIBA Plan of Work.
The conference will include:
-
debate on the extent of and scrutiny of the Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety on regulatory change
-
a comparative study between the UK and International standards
