Following a major strip-out of the original building the design brief was to completely refurbish the property - a 5 storey townhouse including a (2 storey) rear extension as well as a tiered, landscaped garden - to create a stylish, family home in a calming colour palette within a classic-contemporary scheme that would complement the existing antique pieces. The aim was to develop a design that was contemporary and up to date, not too traditional but crucially also suited the project’s Regency style building. The client preferred a light colour palette and wanted the overall feel to be light and fresh within a simple scheme. The design was also to include some dramatic elements in the design of the study, WCs and guest bedrooms, where some bold paint colours and unusual finishes were incorporated.
