Located at the heart of historic Canterbury, ‘Palamon Court’, situated on Rhodaus Town, provides brand new bespoke luxury student accommodation.

As both architect and interior designer, GHA were responsible for every element of the scheme, from its inception, to the handover of a fully furnished scheme.

The interiors are centred around a multi-purpose communal space, with bespoke designed self-contained apartments, aiming to create a home away from home, providing students with a stimulating and stylish escape away from university life.

Designed to encourage communal study and co-working, the communal spaces offer a range of working environments, from casual lounging, to formal glass fronted meeting pods, comparable to real life office spaces.  This approach successfully blurs the boundaries between work and play to offer an informal and interactive atmosphere.

The design incorporates an industrial yet homely style throughout; exposed concrete columns and ceilings are combined with herringbone flooring, character oak desks and slatted timber to create a functional yet cosy space.  Each ‘zone’ has its own identity - a traditional library-like feel with leather chairs and oak table tops in the focus study areas; a film-set quality with eclectic furniture and oversized light pendants and ornaments to mute sound in the social study areas; and a graphic colour scheme with a theatrical touch in the social area.
