The purpose of this workshop is to lay bare the furniture commissioning process to Interior Designers who might not have considered it previously and to present the array of possibilities.

Learning objectives

  • To understand the various stages of commissioning furniture, from sketch design to working drawings
  • Material selection and sampling to hand-finishing
  • What to expect, what to look out for and how to avoid common pitfalls
  • How to get the best out of the design/making company. (i.e. what information do Interior Designers need to communicate in order to be best served).
