In this Victorian terraced house brimming with original features, we designed and specified the entire kitchen from windows and doors to flooring, lighting, fireplace, paint and soft furnishings. We were able to redesign it in the existing space, without extending into the side return. Replacing the existing single large sash window with two smaller sash windows allowed us to swap the kitchen and dining room. Now the hub of the house, the dining table looks out into the garden and doubles up as a lovely spot to work from home! The banquette allows for more storage and a cosy, informal space to relax in.
The simple shaker kitchen units, from our handmade furniture range, have traditional detailing, including a Butler Sink and Perrin & Rowe aged brass tap, which seamlessly integrates with the rest of the interior. Painted in Little Greene’s Sage Green, they mirror the green from the Calla Lily garden, creating a link with the outside.
The natural quartzite worktops, with their interesting colours and depth, complement the sage green furniture and are practical for everyday use. We chose a rectangular tile with edge detail for a more traditional take on the metro tile. The industrial style extractor ensures there are no lingering smells after cooking a feast. To finish off the look for our entertaining-loving clients, we put in a bar area opposite the dining area. It’s the perfect space to fix a cocktail while looking out into the garden through the French doors.
