Rees Architects project

Cacti Vista House

Rees Architects sensitively restored this 1920s Waltham Forest home, balancing modern needs with its historical essence. Unsympathetic extensions and lost period features were replaced with thoughtful details and natural, breathable materials. Key interventions include a wider side extension with a generous entrance, reconfigured interiors featuring a light-filled courtyard, and ribbed clay render façades. Polished terracotta-tinted concrete floors, oak joinery, and brass accents create a cohesive, warm interior. Sustainable upgrades like underfloor heating and timber sash windows complement the home’s heritage. This project exemplifies how careful restoration and design precision can transform a neglected property into a functional, timeless family home.
