Chestnuts, The Cotswolds

A family living abroad asked us to design their Cotswolds home - somewhere to gather everyone for summers and Christmases, and a rental in between. Five months, the whole house, and one big catch: it sits beside the village brook and has flooded before. So every beautiful choice had to be a clever one too. 

A soft green runs through the ground floor, echoing the village green outside; upstairs, colour-drenched pastels make the bedrooms glow. And behind a bookcase at the top of the stairs, there's a secret playroom. British makers throughout, and finished just in time for the family's summer holiday.
