Swedish Wood project

Closet Brus

Johannes Lif designed the closet Brus, a design idea which stems from a memory of a sea voyage, sailing a ship from the Swedish city Gothenburg.

The pine has been sawn using a special technique so that the grain of the wood mimics the wave, how the water moves behind the ship.

The knobs on the drawers are stylized horn cleats, which in more common language means "rope fastening knob".

The rigging on a ship, where ropes are tightly wrapped with hemp to prevent chafing, inspired the design of the clothing rack and the legs of the closet.

Brus is one piece of a larger collection made for a walk-in closet.
