Eclectic renovation - mixing the contemporary with the classic

This was a neo-Georgian family home in Hertfordshire which had a complicated layout, with little light. We opened up the inside to make full use of the south facing light, with some larger mixed use spaces and zoning, as opposed to original layout with multiple small rooms. The owners wanted to honour the history of the architecture but valued comfort, ease of use, ease of cleaning and some fun expressed through colour and texture and modernity.   Here we feature some of the special spots inside the house.
