Rees Architects project

Ecliptic Cottage

Ecliptic Cottage is a compact Victorian terrace in Wandsworth, reimagined as a carefully choreographed sequence of light, texture and mood. Working within conservation and flood-zone constraints, Rees Architects transformed the modest footprint into a home that feels expansive through atmosphere rather than size. The ground floor unfolds from a softly lit, intimate lounge to a bright kitchen extension opening to the garden, with subtle level changes defining zones. Light acts as the primary architectural tool, guiding movement and pace throughout. Thoughtful joinery, tactile materials and restrained heritage interventions create a calm, fluid home rich in character and everyday functionality.
