Ella Di Rocco, Wellness MediSpa, Chelsea, London
Matteo Bianchi Studio’s brief – A Wellness Medispa in South Kensington, offering a range of specialist and natural treatments including Red Wine Bath Therapy.
The Ella Di Rocco Wellness MediSpa is a project, which is different and challenging. This is a one of a kind wellness centre in London, directed by Dr Anna Brilli with her daughter Sonia Milena Brilli, space where one can take advantage of special and unique treatments. For example, in the MediSpa baths, you can bathe in wine, immersing yourself completely in the liquid, full of skin revitalising antioxidants, as they used to do in Ancient Rome.
The interiors have been designed to accommodate all facilities needed for a luxury wellness centre inside a retail space with limited square footage. The entrance to the MediSpa is at street level. Beyond the glass door, guests are greeted by a relaxing reception area with bespoke seats and tables by Alivar, where they can sit down and await their consultation. On the walls, a composition of shelves and circular mirrors by Gallotti & Radice showcases the products on sale in the store.
On the lower ground floor, there are three rooms for beauty treatments, equipped with treatment beds and dimmable lighting, adjusted according to customer needs. A Juliette desk with leather top greets clients. The main Spa area is also located on the lower ground level reached via a spiral staircase. The walls are covered with custom-made wallpaper from Baboon Wallcoverings. The Spa is characterised by green walls and black and white floor tiles by Fornace Brioni that mirror the geometric pattern of the staircase. It’s a sensual environment, where time seems to slow down and customers are pampered by carefully selected matt brass fittings and details.
