BIID Evening Tour of Southside House
BIID members, plus a guest, are invited to enjoy a private curator led tour of Southside House in the magical light of 228 candles, including a glass of Prosecco on arrival and at the end of the tour in the house’s peaceful gardens.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Described by connoisseurs as an unforgettable experience, Southside House provides an enchantingly eccentric backdrop to the lives and loves of generations of the Pennington Mellor Munthe families. Maintained in traditional style without intrusive refurbishment and crowded with family possessions, Southside offers a wealth of fascinating family stories.
Southside was re-fashioned in the William and Mary style, and behind the long façade are the old rooms, still with much of the furniture which the Penningtons brought here, and a superb collection of art and historical objects reflecting centuries of ownership.
WHAT YOU WILL LEAVE WITH
A glimpse into the world of a 17th-century, Grade II* listed house containing many examples of 17th century furniture, and memorabilia connected to the Pennington family.
About the venue
Southside House located on the south side of Wimbledon Common.
