BIID Student Design Challenge 2017
The BIID Student Challenge is back! Now in its third year, this one day CAD-free design competition is
open exclusively to final year Interior Design and Interior Architecture
degree students from across the UK. The event is being generously
hosted by renowned design company Herman Miller in their stunning Aldwych showroom in central London.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We are inviting course directors to select a team of 6 students to travel to London and compete on behalf of their university. Teams will be given the top secret design brief on the day and will have just 6 hours to develop a design proposal, before presenting their designs to a judging panel led by BIID President Elect Charles Leon. First, second and third place will be awarded to the designs that have met the brief in the most creative and original way.
Attendance to this event is £50 + VAT PER TEAM consisting of 6 students and 1 optional course director, leader or
lecturer. Lunch and refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
We will provide paper and students are asked to bring pencils, pens,
modelling materials and anything else they might need along with them. No computers or tear sheets will be permitted.
WHAT STUDENTS WILL LEAVE WITH
In addition to a fun and unique experience for students, this day also provides them an opportunity for mentoring with a practising designer.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Final year Interior Design and Interior Architecture degree students.
We
are anticipating that this event will be extremely popular, so if you
would like to send a team along to represent your university please book
your place as soon as possible. The deadline to apply is 12.00pm on
Friday 10th November 2017.
Once you have secured one of the exclusive team registrations, the BIID will then contact you for your details and the names of your 6 competitors. If you have any questions about the competition, please do not hesitate to get in touch via email info@biid.org.uk, or by telephone on 020 7628 0255.
