CDM Regulations 2015- your responsibilities as designers explained
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015) are UK regulations that set standards for managing health, safety, and welfare in construction projects. The goal is to ensure safety from the planning stage through completion. CDM 2015 outlines roles and responsibilities for all parties involved, including clients, designers, contractors, and workers.
Key points include:
- Client: Ensures project arrangements are in place for safety.
- Principal Designer: Manages safety in the design phase.
- Principal Contractor: Oversees safety during the construction phase.
- Workers: Must cooperate with safety measures.
The regulations aim to reduce risks and ensure proper planning and communication throughout a construction project.
