WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This webinar is for interior designers at all stages of their career looking to understand their rights as designers and how to implement an Intellectual Property Strategy into their business.
ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Gavin Llewellyn is a Partner in the Corporate & Commercial team of Stone King LLP in London. He is an intellectual property specialist dealing with a broad range of IP rights for a wide variety of clients. Gavin has a particular focus on brand and design protection and exploitation and on contentious issues and business risks related to IP, including the enforcement of IP rights through Court and IP Registry proceedings. As a result of this focus, Gavin works closely with brand owners and businesses from across the design industry and is a Legal Affiliate of the design trade association Anti Copying in Design (ACID).
Dids Macdonald has over 25 years’ experience within the design industry initially owning an interior design company and latterly as a designer-maker. She launched ACID (Anti Copying in Design) because her products were consistently copied. In June 2015 Dids was made an Honorary Fellow of the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in Her Majesty’s Birthday Honours for her services to the design industry.
ACID is the UK’s leading membership and campaigning organisation for Design and Intellectual Property and is a trade association for designers and manufacturers with aim to provide advice and guidelines to help their members protect their intellectual property to achieve growth through a proactive IP strategy. www.acid.com
