This florist and floristry school is excellently situated, opposite Brompton Square and between Harrods and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The client initially approached KIMA to create visuals of the interior and exterior to secure the lease. From there we were responsible for the planning application to the local authority for a replacement shopfront and for obtaining the Licence to Alter from the landlord. Both the landlord and the local authority welcomed our proposal for a traditional shopfront.

For the interior, we were inspired by shop interiors from the Victorian era. The space is fortunate to have tall ceilings and we clad the walls in timber panelling, painted in a soft green, to form a backdrop for floral displays. The teaching area centres on a 4 meter long table especially designed and made for the store and is surrounded by Murano glass mirrors with a flower detail, incorporated into the wall panelling.
