Sector: Retail

Featured product: Franklin Bespoke Herringbone

Fortnum & Mason, established in 1707, partnered with Cada Designs to transform the 3rd floor of their Piccadilly flagship store into a unique food and drink experience hub. The project aimed to blend the store's historic charm with innovative, sustainable design elements. Woodworks by Ted Todd supplied bespoke timber flooring, specifically a custom version of Franklin Herringbone from their Antique collection, ensuring the floor complemented the aesthetic vision while emphasising sustainability.

The collaboration with CADA Design sought to create a flexible, multi-use space that integrates learning, events, and experimental retail. Woodworks bespoke service provided handmade sample panels tailored to the project's requirements. The chosen floor, with its robust construction and antique character, supports the high-traffic environment and maintains the store's luxurious heritage. With its robust 6mm wear layer, this floor will excel in high-traffic areas, ensuring lasting performance. Our exclusive Naked Skin Lacquer finish has been applied to the floor's undulating surface to preserve the wood’s original patina.

The newly designed space includes a Food and Drink Studio, an on-site distillery, a Cook Shop, and a dedicated area for Fortnum's famous hampers. This renovation highlights Fortnum & Mason's commitment to sustainability, innovation, and enhancing customer experience, reinforcing its iconic status in British retail.
