The debut property from Italian fashion house Missoni is a dose of spirited style. It is not just the ultra-modernist interior with its opaque Teals, Violets, and Greens mixed with Black-and-White stripes, chevrons, and checkerboards —the 136-room hotel, which replaced a brutalist government building on the city’s central Royal Mile, defies the historic grey of Edinburgh. Dramatic floor-to-ceiling vases fully clad in 1x1cm Black and White mosaics as well as monochromatic glass mosaic striped decoration flank the entrance doors, to provide a dramatic and eye-catching space.
