Be Elegant. Be Iconic. Be-Kin.
Perfectly located in the heart of Islington stands this elegant Grade 2 Listed Townhouse. Our client, a New Yorker who moved to London, wanted a design narrative that both reflected his love for mid-century furniture and celebrated his new life in UK – the type of challenge our holistic design approach was made for.
We blended iconic designs, such as the Eames Chair designed by Ray and Charles Eames with authentic vintage pieces including a 1950s dresser and pair of rattan chairs, to create an interior with real character.
To help our client build his art collection, we commissioned the renowned street photographer, Joshua K. Jackson, to photograph the local area creating a unique photography collection that celebrates his new home in the capital.
The colour and texture palette are rich, with deep ochres and midnight blues. Beautiful and unique fabrics were specified including plush cotton velvets and woven textiles. We especially loved zooming in on the special details - like velvet trims to the curtains and the contrast piping on the sofa.
After successfully completing the interiors, Andrew asked us to refurbish the garden terrace which we happily took on - here specifying outdoor tiles, furniture and lights. And now we hear a whisper that there might be another property to design for him in the future, and we look forward to this.
Client testimonial: “Wren and Be-kin were incredible in turning my house into a beautiful new home. She took the time to understand my tastes and goals and created a stunning home in which I feel completely comfortable and relaxed. I especially appreciated how good she was at anticipating what would work for me and offering ideas that almost always immediately clicked. I cannot recommend Wren enough and don’t know what my home would be now without her help.”
