Interior refurbishment of eight hotel room suites, occupying a coach house on Bath’s Henrietta Street, as part of stylish and unique hotel No.15 by Guest House Hotels.

No.15 Hotel’s rich and wondrous communal areas pique interest and curiosity, contrasted by the tranquillity of their suites. We strive to honour the integrity of historic buildings and find it greatly important in a building like No.15, much of which has been sensitively restored inside. It’s a striking example of Bath’s beautiful architecture.

Inspiration for the Coach House came from the building itself, the concept of it being the first point of arrival, from a great journey, long ago. The romantic vision of these is that they were cosy, warmly lit and rustic. We brought in natural materials that evoked this feeling, from stained oak, to handmade ceramic tiles, raw linens, metal finishes and jute.

There’s a nod to Georgian carriages through a collection of vintage lamps adorning the hallway (the hotel showcases many artistic collections throughout the hotel using everyday objects in an artistic arrangement ) and glazed, panelled timber partitions handmade on site. Yet, No.15 is a modern operation, and so the interior has an understated and contemporary luxury that modern day travellers come to expect.

The colour palette is soft, contrasted with dark flooring, extending from the more dramatic hallway; a deep olive green with the hotel’s famous pink featuring in the lobby pantry. We strived for a wondrous entrance on arrival, and a relaxing suite to unwind in; the colour choices really came from a desire to create this feeling. Finished with bespoke joinery, loose furniture and furnishings, all locally produced, along with curated vintaged pieces we sourced.
