Insect Invasion Averted at Quaint Rural Home

A charming countryside home with a new extension overlooking a large garden was being flooded with insects. Fed up with wafting flies and other bugs out of the house, the homeowners decided enough was enough.

Phantom Screens installed two pleated door screens to their new conservatory. This allowed insect-free fresh air to ventilate the home, improving indoor air quality and preventing overheating.

The gorgeous new conservatory acted as the main living room, so it was where the homeowners chose to relax. It had a lot of windows, so it could get rather hot and stuffy. Opening the doors was crucial to maintaining a comfortable climate, but to do this without inviting insects inside they were going to need door screens.

Installation

Quick and easy

Two pleated screens were installed internally to the conservatory doors - one single, one double on the bifold doors.

They were powder coated in Pebble Grey (RAL 7032 satin) to match the bespoke colour of the conservatory. This means that whether or not the screens are in use, they are barely noticeable, as they look like they’re already part of the design of the room.

Pleated screens have an elegant design and are so easy to use. With an ultra-low-profile floor rail and mesh that folds into its housing, they provide discreet insect protection. When in use, they are barely noticeable as the views through them are unaffected.
