Interior Design Assistant/ Junior Interior Designer
Job Description
HollandGreen is looking for a bright, passionate and highly organised interior design assistant or junior interior designer to join our Practice in our Thame Studio, Oxfordshire. This position would be ideal for someone at the beginning of their design career, looking to gain experience within an established team.
The ideal candidate will be a kind and hard-working multi- tasker with an appreciation of working in a busy, creative environment. The willingness to learn and work flexibly within a team, a strong attention to detail and a conscientious and proactive approach to all areas.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects from concept through to completion, and become part of a dynamic, design-led and friendly Studio.
Applicants should have a natural aptitude for design and experience working on high-quality projects demonstrated through a beautiful portfolio of work that exhibits their ability to contribute to the design ethos of the Practice.
This is a full-time position. All candidates should be eligible to work in the UK.
Roles & Responsibilities
- To assist with the smooth running of the Interior Design Department
- Keeping the design library of books, samples and materials in order
- Organising deliveries, storage and logistics
- Producing accurate and detailed meeting minutes Supporting designers on site visits as necessary
- Research and source high quality interiors products including bespoke items, fittings, soft furnishings, lighting, furniture, sanitaryware, pictures and accessories to designer’s brief
- Ordering receiving and distributing samples, keeping on top of our returnable samples and organising meetings with ID suppliers.
- Assisting with preparation and management of FF&E schedules, ordering and delivery - Updating internal documents and schedules
- Producing floor plans and elevations using Archicad and other design tools
- Producing rendered and sketch visuals Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience working on luxury residential & commercial/hospitality projects
- Excellent creative & design skills; a good eye & passion for high-end interiors
- Excellent organisational skills
- Confidence in dealing with a wide range of clients
- Enthusiastic team player who enjoys supporting and working within a team
- Ability to deliver results and see jobs through
- An understanding of how to read and take measurements off drawings - Numerate with an attention to detail
- Proficiency in ArchiCAD preferable, CAD, Sketchup, Photoshop & Microsoft Office essential.
- Proficiency in EstiPC software preferable.
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential
