MCa provided project management and architectural design services for this Japanese cultural centre in Kensington High Street.

The project, sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and one of only three in the world, was designed by Masamichi Katayama of renowned Japanese design consultancy Wonderwall. MCa have faithfully executed the stunning, minimalist concept with meticulous attention to detail.

The 30,000sqft facility, arranged over three floors of the Grade II * listed former Derry & Toms department store, includes an exhibition gallery, a performance space, a shop, a travel bureau, and a restaurant, all dedicated to celebrating the best in Japanese creativity.
