An unusually large six bedroom house in south London surrounded on all four sides by a wonderful country garden. The project involved a level of structural intervention to reconfigure the spaces in a way that allowed our clients to use the generous footprint of this house more comfortably. Our clients had already lived in the house for 10 years and raised their family here. With their children now grown up and moving into their own homes they wanted to update the interiors to reflect this next chapter in their lives. The house itself was in good overall condition and had already been extended by our clients previously, it had wonderful existing architectural detailing on which we knew we could build. The house gave us a blank canvas on which to build a grown up yet colourful scheme, introducing a balance of pattern and grounding colour.
