Luxury West End Apartment

Situated on the twelfth-floor of a new modernist icon, rising far above the rooftops of its contemporaries, this luxury apartment comprises unrivalled views over the heart of London. With contemporary design at its forefront, and comprising exposed structural beams, floor to ceiling windows, solid timber chevron flooring with underfloor heating throughout, marble bathrooms, polished concrete work surfaces and and steel-framed internal glazing, this high-end apartment demanded only the best furniture, fixtures and accessories.

When our previous client approached us about designing his new London residence, situated in the heart of Covent Garden, of course we jumped at the chance! Being that the luxury apartment is situated in an iconic West End building, in a prime London location for access to shops, restaurants and theatres, we knew the design needed to reflect this. We had a clear vision from the start and knew the aesthetic needed to reflect not only the apartment’s location and unparalleled view of the London skyline, but the cosmopolitan creativity and avant-garde atmosphere of London’s West End.

This luxury apartment was a prime example of our full design service. With the client based in Brighton, we were able to coordinate the entire project remotely, liaising with the building’s concierge team when it came to installation and deliveries. Being on the twelfth-floor certainly presented some challenges (especially when it came to bringing the 2.5m long solid marble console table up the fire escape, as it wouldn’t fit in the lift!) but we think you’ll agree the result speaks for itself.

Utilising contemporary design icons, such as the Carrara marble Gubi dining table and upholstered velvet Beetle stools, Lee Broom Crescent chandelier and the Knoll Platner coffee table, featuring vertical steel wire rods welded to circular horizontal and edge-framing rods, designed in 1962 by Warren Platner, our designs brought a sense of gravitas to the scheme. Conversely, we utilised a bold, graphic colour palette and didn’t shy away from provocative contemporary artwork to really tie the scheme together. This interplay between brazen use of colour and dependable design classics creates a unique interior, reflective of the diverse nature of London’s West End.

Bespoke upholstery and soft furnishings formed a key part of our design remit. We designed and created soft wave-headed linen curtains to soften the angular floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as a bespoke panelled headboard wall, incorporating switches and sockets to sit behind the bed in the Principal Bedroom. And, of course, the scheme was completed by an abundance of tasselled and piped scatter cushions, designed and handmade by us – right here in Sussex.
