The Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Milan was created through the architectural redevelopment of three historical buildings, offering a unique glimpse into the city’s more intimate and authentic side. Designed by Antonio Citterio and Patricia Viel, the project harmonizes contemporary design rigor with a rich, decorative visual language, aligned with the international identity of the Mandarin Oriental brand.
The interiors are defined by understated elegance, with carefully curated materials, sophisticated textures, and a refined color palette that enhances the historical character of the spaces. The result is a luxurious and discreet atmosphere that reflects both Milanese style and global hospitality standards.
For this exclusive project, Lualdi supplied Filorei_EI60 fire-rated flush-to-the-wall swing doors for the guestroom entrances. These doors are certified for fire resistance and acoustic insulation, while also providing seamless aesthetic integration within the interior design concept.
Finishes, materials, and detailing were selected in full alignment with the architectural vision, ensuring stylistic consistency and artisanal precision—key features of high-end hospitality environments.
