Matham Grove - Dulwitch

Matham Grove underwent a transformative process, involving a rear extension and full refurbishment of a 5-bedroom residence in East Dulwich. Previously extended but lacking efficient use of space, the house presented an awkward flow and dimly lit areas.

Purchased by a professional couple, the goal was to craft a beautiful and light home that seamlessly aligned with their lifestyle, fostering a welcoming environment for entertaining friends and family. Opting for an interior-focused design, emphasis was placed on practicality, incorporating plenty of storage with a palette of soft colours and textures to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Collaborating closely with an architect, we added a rear extension dedicated to a spacious kitchen and dining area, fostering better connectivity with the garden and providing a hub for entertaining. Careful attention was given to optimising light flow, ensuring a bright and inviting atmosphere throughout.

The ground floor underwent a complete redesign, introducing a library/office space, extensive coat storage, a utility room, and an expansive living area. The first and second floors saw full refurbishments, including upgraded bathrooms and the addition of a dressing room.

Material choices centred on tactility, with soft muted colours contributing to a warm, inviting home with a touch of playful elegance.
