Mid Weight Interior Designer

Job Description

Cat Dal Interiors is seeking a mid weight residential interior designer to join its team in London. 

We are a small, happy and busy design studio, looking to recruit an experienced, self-motivated, interior designer with great experience to join our growing team. 

To manage a healthy work and life balance with young kids, both directors work remote for the time being, so the successful applicant must be comfortable to thrive working from home. We meet in London at our projects usually once or twice a week for presentations/site visits etc, but we have no plans for an office at the moment. 

The ideal candidate will be expected to embrace and translate all aspects of an interior project from concept through to installation and completion.  With the budget in mind, you will be expected to hold great relationships with the rest of the team and suppliers, ensuring regular and open communication, to ensure that projects are run efficiently and to the highest standards. 

You will need to be self-motivated, extremely organised and thorough, have good communication skills, manage project deadlines, and have an exceptional eye for design.

1.        Relevant qualification in interior design with min four years’ experience in residential luxury schemes 

2.        Confident and articulate 

3.        Highly organised 

4.        Thorough with a keen eye for detail 

5.        Adaptable, flexible and easy to work with, in a small company

6.        Results-focused and deadline-driven with specific experience in managing installations 

7.        Self-motivated and creative 

8.        Knowledge of products and materials, suppliers, furniture and design trends in the industry 

9.        Strong knowledge of interior architecture 

10.  Excellent written, visual and oral communication skills 

11.  Great with budgeting and time management 

12.  Experienced in sourcing and procuring furniture and furnishings with a thorough knowledge of FF&E, particularly in reference to high-end residential 

13.  Keep accurate and detailed specification and costing documentation

 Key Skills Required: 

1.        Strong 2D and 3D skills in CAD (AutoCAD preferred, including SketchUp)

2.        Fluent in Photoshop, InDesign, Excel

3.        Fluent in English, verbal and written, must also be a UK resident, eligible to work in the UK and in possession of a National Insurance number and GBP bank account.

 Salary will be determined by a candidate's individual experience. 

Job start date: Mid-October
