This project is a model house near Mount Fuji, designed to weave the natural and cultural qualities of its surroundings into everyday living. Sustainability was central to the concept, with responsibly sourced timber used for the structure and traditional craftsmanship from the region integrated throughout the interior.
Traditional Gun’nai textiles and handcrafted Nishijima washi paper were incorporated to express texture, light, and a sense of place. These materials interact with natural light and architectural elements to create a warm and refined atmosphere.
Motifs inspired by Mount Fuji and the surrounding landscape—such as tapestry artworks, flowing forms, and botanical glass details—bring a subtle narrative into the space. Together, these elements form a living environment that reflects the natural story of the region while supporting calm and comfortable daily life.
