New Build in the Countryside

We were tasked with creating the full service design for a 1000 square metre modernist home in a rustic setting. The home has 7 bedroom suites, a vast open plan living space, extensive exterior terraces and a basement with movie room, indoor spa and a party room. The challenge across this scale in a modern home is to avoid the developer feel, so each bathroom has items in common, such as floor tiles and tapware, but each with its own distinctive flavour. The same for bedrooms, which all have their own colour palette, but all with the same Douglas Fir wall to wall wooden flooring. The kitchen island is the show stopper, Italian Rosso marble, visible from all sides, including from a zero edge 25m swimming pool, lined with sand coloured mosaic tiles that are charged by the sun to glow at night. We were in charge of all elements, from lighting design, to landscape design and worked with an array of subcontractors and artisans to achieve a glorious but most 'liveable in' finish.
