Settled in the deep rural countryside outside of Newbury, this busy family home needed some love. With dated interiors from the previous owners this family wanted a design that would grow with them and provide much-needed space, light and connection to the garden. The innovative design allowed for windows to open straight out onto raised flower beds filled with meadow flowers and bring in extensive views of the countryside beyond.
Structurally we need to redesign a large proportion of the ground floor to enable the creation of a large family kitchen, a generous boot room and a laundry room. Our goal was to create a calm backdrop to busy family life with highly functional storage and spaces.
Embracing soft tones, the natural light finishes palette is contrasted with a deep green to enhance the garden and fields beyond. Limed oak and natural linens add softness and contrast to the industrial elements within the space. We are thrilled with how we have transformed the look and feel of our client's home to create a timeless and relaxed family home.
