Topic: Putting People at the Heart of the Experience

Tim Mutton

The last decade has seen a renewed interest in all things culinary. With the popularity of addictive reality TV shows such as Masterchef, Come Dine with Me and The Great British Bake-Off, the onslaught of social media food porn followers and rapidly expanding food blogging community, the growing obsession with food has brought about the critic and indeed chef, in all of us.   It’s not surprising then, that culinary genius’ from the likes of Gordon Ramsey to Marco Pierre White have become just as well known for their animated personalities and colourful temperaments as they have for their skill in the kitchen.

To what extent then, is this translated in their own branded restaurants and in what way does it, or should it, impact on the design and ultimately in the guest experience?

Tim will be exploring how the personalities, passions and influences of famous chefs such as Raymond Blanc and Jamie Oliver have shaped the design aesthetic, atmosphere and sprit of their brands to create successful and memorable hospitality experiences.  He will also be sharing his experience of how he collaborates with entrepreneurs to create exciting new restaurant concepts and how even then, their own unique journeys and love of food becomes rooted at the core of the brand.   Join Tim for an engaging succession of stories about putting people and entertainment at the heart of the human experience.

Tim is the founder and CEO of Blacksheep, the award-winning, international and independent design agency.  Winner of the Wave of Future Award US 2012 for hospitality design, Tim is considered a leading authority on the hospitality sector. He combines a passion for F&B design with in-depth sector knowledge of the practical, business and operational aspects of a business.
