The BIID and Our Industry Partners

How we plan to adapt and offer support in 2020/21

Whilst navigating through the pandemic, we are all adapting to new ways of doing business, and wondering how these profound changes will affect the interior design industry in the long term.

At the BIID we are supporting our interior designer members with the smooth running of their practices. However, we are also thinking of our supporters - you, our Industry Partners - and understanding the difficulties you’re facing.

Becoming an Industry Partner of the BIID means an opportunity to learn about, network and communicate with interior designers, and the BIID are still committed to providing these opportunities.

Many of the benefits we offer Industry Partners are already digital; for example a profile on the BIID website and two mentions in the Industry Update to interior designers. One very valued benefit is the Industry Partner Forum, where BIID staff and interior designers share insight and advice, and we are excited to announce details of the next (digital) forum in September, details are in the IP newsletter and on the website.. As always, it will be a great opportunity to listen and learn from interior designers about how they wish to do business with suppliers.

Networking and physical meetings are so crucial to our industry - after all, our work is to contribute to the creation of physical spaces - therefore we're delighted to see that showrooms are opening up, as our fantastic Industry Partners are working hard to bounce back following the lockdown. In the meantime, the BIID are working to bring meaningful networking online, and we will announce further details in September.

For those of you who are CPD providers: now is the time to take your content online. Interior Designers are, perhaps more than ever, looking to learn new skills, and are very open to remote seminars. Just talk to us at the BIID if you have any queries about turning your CPD digital.

As we move in to the second half of this extraordinary year, we hope you will join the Industry Partner Forum in September and we look forward to announcing further networking opportunities.

Lastly, a message from our interior designer members to all Industry Partners: we still want to hear from you, so stay in touch!
