BIID Interior Design Awards 2023: Judging Opportunity
The BIID is seeking volunteers to help us judge the shortlisted entries for the 2023 BIID Interior Design Awards
The BIID Interior Design Awards 2023 will open for entries on Thursday 5th January 2023. Building on the huge success of our inaugural 2022 Awards, we will be repeating our rigorous 3 stage judging process. Stage 1 is the Shortlisting stage by the Shortlisting Panel, followed by stage 2, the site visits by the Site Assessment Panel, through to stage 3, the in-person judging day with our selected jury of industry experts.
We are now looking for BIID Registered Interior Designer members who are interested in joining our Site Assessment Panel. Site Assessors are individuals who participate in the judging by visiting shortlisted projects and meeting the designers behind them. This is a unique opportunity to see some of the most beautiful, innovative, and interesting new interiors in the UK, many of which are private locations never open to the public.
So, what's involved...
HOW MANY PROJECTS WILL I NEED TO COMMIT TO VISITING?
You will be asked to commit to a minimum of 1 visit, but there is the potential to visit more. Once the shortlist is finalised, and potential visiting dates have been agreed with the designers and property owners, we will send the Site Assessment Panel a calendar of visits. You can then volunteer to visit a project, based on its location and your availability.
WHEN WILL THE SITE ASSESSMENTS TAKE PLACE?
The shortlist will be announced in late May 2023 with site visits to take place over June and July
WILL YOU PAY FOR MY TRAVEL TO THE PROPERTY?
Yes, all reasonable travel expenses related to your site visit will be reimbursed. We will provide additional details on how to claim expenses upon receiving your application to be a Site Assessor.
CAN I STILL ENTER THE AWARDS IF I AM A SITE ASSESSOR?
Yes, you can still enter the awards, but you cannot assess the entries in the region you have submitted your project(s) in.
WHAT GUIDANCE WILL I RECEIVE TO ASSIST ME IN THE ASSESSMENT?
A full guide and comment sheet will be provided to you in advance of your visit.
