BIID Launches New Referrals System
The BIID has launched its new referrals system. Designed to speed up the process and get your name in front of the client faster, it has also been redesigned to ensure that the client finds the right designer for their project.
From the 4th of February 2016, Full Members will be notified via email that a new referral has been submitted to the BIID. You will no longer find full details of the project in your email. Instead, you will be directed to log in to the BIID Members Area. In the referrals tab, you will be able to see the number of open referrals available to you.
When you click to view the open referrals, you will be able to read the details of the referral and decide whether you are interested in the project. Beneath the referral, you will now be able to enter your response to the referral directly into the website. You no longer need to respond via email to the BIID office.
Beneath your response, you will be asked to tick a box certifying that you meet all of the required criteria for the project before sending your response off.
If you do not briefly explain why you are qualified to work on the referral, we are no longer able to submit the referral. This is a positive development which means that every designer should submit a short statement that is tailored to the project.
You will hear from the BIID letting you know whether you were successful in your response at a later date.
In summary:
- BIID Referrals are now processed online, in the Members Area
- You will receive a notification email
- You should log in to the members area and click on the "Client Referrals" tab
- Read the referral, and then submit your response in the box below
- Ensure that your response is a personal one, not a stock answer. Why are you qualified for the job?
- Tick the box that certifies your suitability for the job
- Submit!
The BIID will be using this referral system from the 4th of February. We look forward to your response and to any feedback on its functionality.
Please note: only full Members are able to respond to referrals.
