New and Improved Styling Event with Practical Photo Session
The BIID are excited to announce that calendar favourite ‘Styling Interiors for Photoshoots’ is back and better than ever with a refreshed program incorporating a new practical styling session with a photographer in central London showroom Lutron European Experience Centre on the 12th of November 2019.
Join interiors journalist, author and lecturer Judith Wilson and interiors photographer Rachael Smith as they guide you through the practicalities of devising winning schemes to grab the attention of magazine editors and collaborators.
For the seminar section of the full day workshop, Judith’s expert eye will guide you through how to successfully use props to create ambience and harmony for the home and how to fix common problems that occur in the kitchen, dining room, sitting room, bedroom and bathroom.
After lunch, Judith will be working with the group for the practical element of the day as guests are invited to literally get hands-on with the hotel and residential room sets at the Lutron European Experience Centre. Designers will be encouraged to get creative with assorted props such as cushions and china, along with vases, flowers and fruits for styling. Your labours will be rewarded with an interactive photo session with Rachael as she works with you to get the shot.
This is a fantastic opportunity for designers to get involved in a mock photoshoot, where you can ask Rachael questions about how to work with a photographer and how to get the most out of a day’s shoot. And of course, how to style the projects you are working on with Judith as she explains the key elements to composing atmospheric interiors, developing a ‘critical eye’, how to source props, how to improve your Instagram feed and a clearer understanding of what magazines are looking for when choosing interiors for their publications.
This workshop is suitable for practicing interior designers and students studying interior design and we encourage designers that have attended before to register to refresh their knowledge with updated trends in magazines and social media, and of course to take part in the brand new practical styling workshop and photo session.
