Volunteers needed: cpd committee

The Institute's CPD Committee is looking for new volunteers to assist in organising its regular CPD seminars, lectures and tours. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is way by which all professionals maintain and update their knowledge and skills after qualification. It can take a huge variety of forms including seminars, lectures, events, exhibitions, tours, reading, researching, mentoring and more. The BIID CPD Committee organises the Institute's own CPD events in addition to ensuring the quality of our approved CPD Providers. This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved with a core part of the Institute's activities and help ensure that we continue to provide high quality events to our members.
The CPD Committee is one of the most rewarding committees to serve on. If there has ever been an event you wished the Institute would put on, or a gap in your knowledge you would like to be filled, this is your opportunity! As the committee is made up of busy working interior designers they understand exactly what CPD events are the most valuable for interior designers. The committee meets around 3 times a year, usually at the Institute's offices in Chelsea Harbour, so the time commitment is very manageable. At the meetings they plan future events and then individual members are given the task of organising their own event, with the support of Claudette Williams, the Institute's Education and Events Executive. The committee also regularly review past events and incorporate feedback received to ensure that the Institute continue to provide high quality and relevant events. They also oversee the Institute's CPD Providers Diary which is a fantastic and growing resource of largely free to attend Institute approved CPDs, provided by other industry companies.
If you are a BIID member and are interested in joining this committee please email Claudette Williams for further information.
