Studio Smiths was appointed to renovate this London pied-à-terre, which had already been fully modernised in the early 2000’s but was in much need of a refresh after being sun exposed and sitting vacant for the past 15 years. Our Cotswolds based clients wanted a more refined and sophisticated interior that was comfortable, cosy and easy to maintain during their London visits. Mid way through the project it was decided that the kitchen should also undergo a full renovation, so we were engaged to reconfigure the layout, improve flow and design a state-of-the-art kitchen to complement the rest of the scheme
Taking inspiration from the leafy streets surrounding the property we curated a relaxed scheme with natural finishes and textures forming the backbone of the design. An inviting yet peaceful atmosphere was created using the client’s preferred cool colour palette of blue and green mixing shades of stone blue, indigo, sage, eucalyptus, French grey and smoke. To enhance the character of the townhouse apartment, we incorporated details such as reeded wall paneling, deep walnut-stained floors, antique mirror, and a bespoke Arabescato Corchia marble fireplace surround, all of which convey a sense of timeless charm
