About the Artist
Slim Aarons (1916–2006) was an American photographer celebrated for capturing the glamour and leisure of high society in the post-war era. After developing his photographic skills during World War II, Aarons went on to shoot for leading publications including Life magazine, becoming known for his candid images of celebrities, jet-setters, and luxury destinations. His work, defined by his famous description of photographing “attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places,” remains some of the most iconic lifestyle photography of the 20th century.
