Sloane Street Penthouse

Located within a mid-century residential building on Sloane Street, this duplex penthouse was reimagined as a calm and considered London base for an international family. Rather than treating the apartment as a transient pied à terre, the design focuses on creating a home that supports everyday life, balancing clarity, functionality, and a sense of quiet permanence.

The project is grounded in careful spatial planning. The existing layout was reconfigured to improve circulation and establish a more legible relationship between shared living areas and private suites. Natural light and long views across Cadogan Gardens informed the arrangement of spaces and furniture, reinforcing openness and visual continuity throughout the apartment.

A restrained material palette underpins the interior. Limewashed walls introduce softness and tonal variation, while honed stone, travertine, and bespoke oak joinery create a calm, architectural backdrop. Joinery is fully integrated, concealing storage and services within resolved volumes to maintain visual clarity and support the practical demands of daily living.

Sustainability was approached through retention and adaptation. Existing timber floorboards and wardrobe structures were preserved and reworked, reducing unnecessary replacement while aligning with the overall material language.

The result is a composed and enduring interior where architecture and interior design are closely aligned, creating a space that is both functional and quietly restorative.
