Gosling’s vision is to combine classical inspiration and exquisite British craftsmanship. All Gosling furniture is handmade by skilled cabinetmakers and each piece reflects an exceptional level of detail. From the choice of timbers and the book matching of woods, to the screw heads lining up along the grain direction, their work is unsurpassed in quality and care.
Integrity of design and an appreciation of architecture are of paramount importance to Gosling whilst only products of the highest quality are incorporated in interesting and ingenious ways into their designs, resulting in extraordinary and unique pieces.
The Cocktail Cabinet is made in English Harewood, with inlays of bone and hand cut bronze straw. Straw marquetry, was first used in a contemporary way, in room settings and furniture in the 1930's by French designer, Jean-Michel Frank. The particular straw Gosling uses today is grown and dyed by hand in the South of France, worked into panels in Normandy, and then sent to Gosling’s cabinetmakers in Yorkshire.
This stunning piece sits on a raised plinth, with a detail of polished chrome. The interior of the cabinet is lined in leather, with the glasses housed on a series of handmade curved Harewood shelves.
There are a number of pullout sections for cocktail paraphernalia, and the internal section is lit with small ‘LED’s’ recessed into the cabinet, thus lighting the three tiered glass section top, and the main body of the cabinet simultaneously. Made to order, price is between £27,000 and £35,000.
