Skill development
Participating in the competition allows you to hone your drawing and design skills. You can practice different techniques and styles, improving your ability to communicate your design ideas visually.

Recognition and exposure
Winning or even just participating in the competition can give you recognition within the interior design industry. Your work may be featured on the BIID website, in newsletters, or in other promotional materials, providing exposure to potential employers or clients.

Portfolio enhancement
Including your competition entry in your portfolio can showcase your design skills and creativity to prospective employers or clients. It demonstrates your commitment to improving your craft.

Cash prize
£500 is awarded to the winner of each category. These rewards can help with your education costs or provide resources to further your career.

Open to all current BIID Student members, there are 3 categories to enter
Digital
Hand Drawn
Hybrid
The winners of each of these categories will be announced on our website and across our social media channel and each receive a cash prize of £500.
The competition is judged by a group of experienced interior designers and our aim is to enable students from all parts of the country to showcase their creative and technical drawing skills. There is no entry fee to ensure the competition is as inclusive as possible.
Entries are open from March to May with the winners decided and announced in June.
CATEGORIES
- Digital: your submission should be entirely created using digital software
- Hand drawn: your submission should be entirely hand drawn and not include any digital or collaged elements
- Hybrid: your submission can be any combination of digital, hand drawn, and collaged elements
JUDGING CRITERIA
- Creativity and originality
- Ability to communicate a design idea or concept
- Technical ability
